Mom Called!

She's trying to call everyone, but for some reason, she can only get through to me. Isn't that sweet?

They made it through fine. Their fence is gone, the tree in the front yard is gone and they lost a few shingles, but otherwise the house is in tact. They don't have power but there's really no flooding. Apparently I10 is underwater though.

Mom said it was horrible. Worse than Alicia. She said the wind just wouldn't stop and even now, she said it's pouring the rain and the sustained winds are around 60 miles an hour. Their neighbors have two generators going, so they had coffee and breakfast this morning. Goober and Miss Squeaky are fine, as well.

There are houses in the neighborhood that have windows out and roofs ripped off, so they're counting themselves lucky.

That's all for now.

Glad they came through it all right. I am sure more than the good juju, Ike got scared off by the thought of seeing what was under the Scotsman's kilt.

Thank all of you so very, very, much for your good juju! It worked - we're still here and the house is still standing. This one was worse than Alicia in 1983 and that one was bad. We found some major damage in the roof (will need to be replaced) and all fences are down and my favorite tree, but other than that, we made it through (hopefully) our last "big" one. Again, thanks to all of you for thinking of us.

Love,
Annette (Annie) & Steve
