Hmph

I am not having a good week. Too much to do at home, too much to do at work, and all I want to do is sleep.

I hate moods like this.

I was home yesterday, for a Tyler appointment, so I got in a good two hour nap (while Tom curled up on me, which is never a bad thing). But when bedtime rolled around, there was just too much rolling around in my head and I didn't fall asleep until it's way too late for me.

At least we got to hang out with Trish and Dan for a bit last night. They just found out they were pregnant, and it's just impossible to be unhappy when talking about the arrive of a cute little baby. Especially with these two people, who have been waiting so long, and are so excited.

Tomorrow is the Solstice Parade. I thought I really wanted to go. Even made a plan with Steve and Stephanie and Isabella. But, right now, it seems like a lot of work. And we'd have to get up early in order to get to Fremont and snag some space along the route.

Sigh.

Did I mention that I just want to sleep?

Icky Day

Although, this photo makes me chuckle, so there's a perk.

Happy Friday.
Thank gawd.

Something is outta whack....

I just can't tell you how unhappy I am to be alive right now. My god, what a day. I actually had to stay late at work - quite rare - and my head hurts so bad right now I'm thinking of cancelling my walk and dinner with the gals. I won't, but I really, really want to.

I got eight emails for meeting requests today. Eight. That's a lot for one day. They just kept popping up, all in the span of a few hours. I went into my boss and said "Are you just trying to make my head explode? What's with all the meetings?!"

There's even a request to meet to discuss an upcoming meeting.
Are you freakin' kidding me? No wonder people can't get any work done. I sat in on just two meetings today and that was one too many.

My review is tomorrow, which I don't much care about, but at least I get to bring up the need for another assistant. I can handle the meetings and managing four calendars. Or I can handle the department maintenance crap. Or I can handle maintaining the 42 employee files. I cannot do all three. I need help. Or a helluva lot more money.

And I mean H E L L U V A.
And there's the tone for my day.

And then I stopped to get gas. $3.15. Holy shit, how long has it been since I got gas? Probably about $1.50 ago. Was that just overnight? I'm taking the bus tomorrow. If I can get up on time. Which I doubt. So I'll end up driving. Oh well, at least I tried.

Okay, off to walk with the gals. Then we're making dinner and watching Heroes. I don't think I'll stay for Heroes. I just want to go to bed and try again tomorrow.

The Storm Has Passed

Apparently something was just out of alignment last week, because this week is proving to be much more.....tolerable. While I'm still running at break-neck speed at work, my mood is relatively chipper and much less angry. I bet my lovely weekend helped a little.

I really don't have anything major to report. No cute, little anecdotes to share. I'm not blue, so I don't need to get mushy and sappy about life and being alone and waah. Let's see....what can I tell you?

My smaller jeans that I bought are now too big and I must buy even smaller jeans. That's always nice.

I put curtains up in the living room. That softens the place a bit. I still need to get stuff up on the walls.

It occurs me, as I scarf down lunch, that I haven't eaten dinner in two days. I get sidetracked and then end up going to bed. That's probably the reason for the smaller jeans. So, in response, I've emailed a friend about having dinner tonight.

Cyn's been gone for eight days and I miss her terribly. She'll be back tomorrow so I'm thinking we'll party it up this weekend.

I'm going to the Pogues concert in a couple of weeks with my irish Sheans. There may have to be whiskey and Guiness beforehand.

I still have not bought a plane ticket for christmas because my boss still has not approved my time off request. That's on my list of things to tackle today.

I think you're all caught up now.

Pissed Off - Day Four

There was a guy whistling while pumping his gas this morning.
And I really, r e a l l y wanted to hit him.

Yes, dear reader, the grrrr has entered day four. I was fine when I woke up. Got through showering and drying all 50 lbs of my hair just fine. Even got dressed without much trouble. Headed to the gas station and took the wrong street, which put me one block south of the 7-11. Which meant I would need to turn left, against a mile of traffic to go one block up because they narrowed 24th down to one lane in each direction, with a suicide lane in the middle.

That's when the F word started flying out of my mouth and now I'm back to pissed off.

*sigh*

I'm sorry. I don't know what's wrong. I'll be better Monday.
Promise.
